What is iLife '11?

This was the last retail (DVD) version of the iLife suite and the first Intel-only version, including iPhoto '11 version 9.0, iMovie '11 version 9.0, Garage Band '11 version 6.0, iWeb '11 version 3.0.2 and iDVD '11 version 7.1. Three of the apps got noticeably spiffy updates...

• iPhoto '11 introduces full-screen viewing and editing modes, better Facebook compatibility, the ability to make fancy photo emails integrated with the Mail app, more slideshow themes, and more photo book and letterpress card style templates.
• iMovie '11 adds some new features and brings back some missing features from iMovie HD (prior to its' iLife '08 redesign), such as introducing the Trailer Creator (to make your own cinematic "coming attraction" preview, complete with orchestral music), re-introducing rubberband-style audio editing and improved audio effects and features, One-Step Effects (pre-fabricated speed and visual effect templates), a face recognition feature, two new Themes (Sports and News), more online export options and Advance Tools settings (such as adding bluescreen in addition to greenscreen), and the abilibty to work with a more traditional interface featuring a horizontal "timeline" on the bottom (which would become the default interface style again with iMovie 10).
• GarageBand '11 introduces Flex Time and Groove Matching track timing tools, new guitar amps and StompBox effects, the "How Did I Play?" performance analyzer utility, and 22 new basic "Learn to Play" lessons for guitar and piano.
• iWeb and iDVD have virtually no updates from the previous versions except for compatibility, as Apple was feeling that creating personal websites and burning DVDs were already obsolete in favor of using social media platforms and sharing HD videos online.

Intel processor (AVCHD video support and GarageBand's Learn To Play lesson requires an Intel dual-core processor or greater.)
1 GB of RAM.
5 GB of available disk space.
DVD drive required for installation; DVD burner required for authoring DVDs.
Mac-compatible audio interface with 24-bit support required for 24-bit audio recording in GarageBand.
Mac OS X 10.6.3 or later
